Euromarket Designs, Inc. (d/b/a Crate & Barrel) is a chain of 122 retail stores in U.S., Canada and 8 other countries, based in Northbrook, Illinois, specializing in housewares, furniture (indoor and out), and home accessories. Its corporate name is Euromarket Designs, Inc. The company is wholly owned by Otto GmbH, based in Germany.Crate and Barrel has two sister brands. CB2 is a home furnishings division geared toward young adults created in 2000. The brand, open since 2000, now has 15 stores across the U.S. and Canada. An additional store was planned to open in Denver in 2018.

Carol Gilman angrily mentioned, "Crate and Barrel SUCKS. You sent me a defective desk and I have called customer service three times and written two emails and I've had NO RESPONSE. Yesterday you said I would get a call back but no one called me. Today a recording said I had an eleven minute wait. I was on the phone for 27 minutes and no response. I had to hang up and go to work."

"Only apply if you are okay with having your schedule moved around without your permission, like being paid minimum wage, and/or like picking up and cleaning up after the retail employees. Managers are a pain and the store manager never remembered anything, whether it be vacations or whatever. Just don’t bother."

"Commissions are shared amongst the sales staff and the sales staff only, which is definitely not much in comparison to other commission jobs of the same sort, and DEFINITELY not much considering the fact that the store has sales a ton on a daily basis. Cons: standing at the door for up to 8 hours at least once a week, poor management, poor communication"

"The products are great. It's definitely a bright, colorful, modern, quirky atmosphere. My favorite time of the year is the holidays so a seasonal holiday sales position is nice. If you are a student or someone who is full time looking for another part time job, it's a great place to work because of flexible scheduling. Cons: bad management"

"There was always something that needed to get done though never done completely right. so there was always room for improvement. Some days feel longer than others and there is no sense of direction for day to day operations. Cons: Short breaks and not many opportunities"

"The CB2 that I was in, was really cool. I left in 2016 because of a manager that I REALLY didn’t like. He just wasn’t fit to be a manager at CB2, the assistant manager at the time was WAAAY better & he deserved to be the store manager but I digress. Cons: Not being able to tell customers we’re closed, A LOT of slow days"

"It's relatively easy compared to other retail, They try to shove the culture down your throat, If you aren't all about CB2 you get passed up for promotions. Thre is a lot of turn over, that's a given because it is reatail but the job(s) don't pay well, so people look elsewehere. Good if you want a part time seasonal gig. The discount is nice. Store spefic management could use an overhaul."

"CB2 in-store offers positions of either sales associates, stock associates, or customer service associates. There is friendly cooperation across all areas. The environment for customer service associates is often fastpased but for the most part physically relaxed. Very little opportunity for growth and raises within in-store positions - which is why most workers tend to be part-time employees who are also students, who leave after about a year or two."

"They will pile on the work load, set high expectations and never pay you what you deserve. Health Benefits are great. Good discount. They have a hard time hiring good candidates because they barely pay above minimum wage. If you need a 2nd job or are retired and looking for something fun to do this might be the job for you. You must be able to multi-task and do more than what is in your job description without complaint. (Clean bathrooms, do stock checks, load furniture into peoples cars.) You also must be a good problem solver and able to handle customers screaming at you. Cons: Low pay, unrealistic expectations, double weekends, understaffed usually."

"I worked at CB2 full-time for more than a year Cons: This company seems to have many broken outdated systems including still being on the Rumba emulated ASN400 dos green screen system (which was popular in the mid 1980's). The Arizona location has a divide between lower staff and upper management that creates negativity and perpetuates a near 100% turnover rate. I stayed as long as I could, and really tried to communicate my need for change, but the company seems to be a giant headless snake."

"I worked at CB2 part-time for less than a year Cons: Where do I begin? I worked for Crate&Barrel for 4 years. I LOVED it. Great culture. Amazing product. Great opportunity to make a real living. And then Euromarket took over. Reorganization is what it was sold as. I had a dear colleague, 20 year veteran, was asked to reapply for her position. Once rehired, she was given the highest hourly available 13.00 and hour with no hope of real opportunity to make up the 25.00 and hour she had earned with raises over that time and was being snatched away by a greedy corporate overlord. She was 60 years old. How shameful. So, I decided to give CB2 a chance. With my experience with the company and my vast experience after leaving the company. The best they could come up with was 10.25 and hour plus some made up unknown “store bonus”, which I never saw! The best they could do for someone of my top selling skills, is put me in part time fill in close shifts. And I still out sold full time employees. When I was scheduled to close one evening, I was assigned cleaning the public toilets. Ok, let me get this straight, you want me to provide world class service, check. You want me to dress to impress. Check. And then clean the public’s toilets when I’m done. For minimum wage. Also, here is tip for young managers, you don’t know everything. And a dismissive or superior attitude, very unbecoming. Well, it’s Crate&Barrel and CB2 who loses. Your not properly paying folks a living wage. Embarrassing. And makes me very sad. Please do not respond with your pretend we care about your opinion canned answer Crate. Do some soul searching and PAY you associates!!"

"I worked at CB2 part-time for less than a year Cons: Everything else. Management is corrupted with narcissists who don't want you to excel and will go through any length to "break" you into the culture. If you don't mind being subject to daily passive aggressive attacks that will lower your self esteem so you never strive to get ahead in the company, work here. There is NO professional growth available to you here, don't believe the deception and friendly smiles. It's a trap. I crawled away with my soul in tact, but only after being publicly humiliated by management in front of customers and coworkers, a psychic breakdown and anxiety attack, and my last check being withheld in attempt to lure me back into this abusive workplace cycle. Dealing with snarky coworkers is one thing, but when all of management struggles with low self esteem and poor communication skills, it's best to just abort ship. Healthy people can not, will not, survive in this type of work environment. Consider yourself warned."

"I worked at CB2 full-time for more than 3 years Cons: The pay is HORRIBLE! After 3 years in this managerial role my GROSS pay was $34,000. It’s disheartening and disturbing. How is it that CB2 is expanding and superseding all sales goals but their lower tier employees get paid nothing? Why did I stay for 3 years? I loved my job! I throughly enjoyed helping customers and employees discover that CB2 love too! Were there obstacles? Yes! They even have a sales goal for the Night Managers that is the same as or more than the FT sales associate. So you have to sell and complete all the managerial duties while getting paid sub par compensation. Another con; constant turnover and having to continually train new employees. This significantly obstructs efficient time management."

"I worked at CB2 part-time Cons: Expect to be standing all day long and bored when the store isn't on rush days/hours. The same music playlist will be looping forever as a small type of torture (I still hear the same music when I go back to say hi to ex coworkers, after 1 year out of there) and you get paid nothing! Might be ok if you just want some extra money, but don't rely on this job to pay your bills. The commission is shared at the end of the day (your rate will be something around $11/hour) AND they only consider the money that was made during your shift (that means: if you leave and one hour later the biggest sale of the day happens, you're not included in that shared commission)"

"THE WORST: I’m a longtime customer and when I couldn’t access 1 of several accounts, business and personal accts, I called Customer Service asking a simple question; “are you experiencing system wide issues with logging into accounts, could you please check thank you”, I was left holding for 20 MIN. THANKS, BUT NO THANKS! There are too many places to shop where this type of customer disregard is unacceptable. It will be the last time I contact CB2. The STAGE is narrowing on where ppl want to shop and folks today are seeking impeccable customer service which is not found here. Good luck with that -"

"I ordered a wall painting from CB2 online. I selected the in-store pick up option and waited 2 weeks for my order to be ready for pick up. Upon picking up my order, I came home to discover CB2 had sent me the wrong painting. Due to my negative experience in ordering from CB2, I strongly advise people to think twice when it comes to ordering for them, or at the least - make sure you double check what arrives. In the meantime, I am waiting for them to rectify the situation and ensure I get the correct painting I ordered."

I made the mistake of purchasing a bed and the whole experience is a nightmare, everything is a miscommunication and always the customer's fault. The always send they are going to email you information which they never do. Customer service is clueless when you reach out to them. Truly NOT WORTH IT at all!"

"I purchased a non-furniture item and paid extra for 2-day delivery. It's been nearly 2 weeks and it still hasn't arrived. The site says it shipped, but FedEx says it has no such package. Incredibly frustrating. It's probably just sitting idle in a CB2 warehouse. And customer service is useless. You can only text and "maybe" get a reply a few hours later."

"One star for the quality of the products, the rest is a SHXT SHOW. I bought multiple items from them almost two months ago. So far I've gotten about 20% of the items. The dining table top was delivered with a huge crack across from it and the delivery people insisted a new one can be delivered within days so I let them send the damaged one back. Little do I know, not only no one called me to deliver a new one, but I had to call myself to ask for something I ALREADY PAID FOR. It's been 2 months and I have had to reach out to them 5+ times myself, it's still nowhere to be found. I've been told "we may have sent you an email for delivery." They won't even tell you when your stuff is ready to be schedule for delivery, you have to call/chat online yourself. ORDER SOMEWHERE ELSE, your time and money are worth much more than this shxt show."

"We ordered 2 beds.....received one of the two and were promised the second bed for the following week. The first delivery guy said he would just leave the first bed and set it up upon delivery of the second bed. Upon delivery of the second bed they refused to move the first bed or do anything promised. After 30-45 minutes we were still not getting any service. The WORST delivery service EVER. I am returning both beds simply because of the poor service. I can buy beds anywhere!!!"

"Won't order from this company again. Cancelled an order for bookends after waiting months for them. Order was cancelled officially. They sent them anyway and charged me for them! I had to contact Fedex myself and cancel the delivery because CB2 said they couldn't. STILL WAITING FOR MY REFUND. They screwed up, they still have my money and are telling me to wait. I'm officially done with CB2 on principal. Their product is great, but it's time for me to give my business to other businesses that are trying harder an deserve a break."

"Ordered a bed frame from them. Two parts of the bed frame were missing, spent an hour and a half on the phone with them only to be told the bed was backordered and I would be contacted when the bedframe was back in stock. Then made the mistake of ordering a coffee table (I know I know, fool me once..). Got a call the day of delivery that the coffee table was damaged in transit and I need to call the store. Spent an hour on hold just to be told they have no idea what to do or how to help, but they will call me back when they have updated information. Customer service is useless. The fact that the bedframe was missing two pieces and the coffee table was so poorly made it was damaged (or they have reckless drivers) is inexcusable. LISTEN THESE REVIEWS and order from a different company."

"I WOULD GIVE THEM NEGATIVE STARS IF THAT WAS POSSIBLE!!! Will never ever shop at CB2 again! I ordered a desk and a rug for my office . No one advised it may take months. Finally, 7 weeks later, they contacted me to advise that the desk was ready, but that I should wait for the rug so as to not be charged TWO deliveries. OUTRAGEOUS! Now, they finally set the delivery date - the earliest is in two weeks!! And I waited on hold 45 min - twice- and still didn’t get through. STAY AWAY"

"Day 4 of trying to receive an answer to a relatively simple question. Texting takes hours for a useless, non-specific response. No one picks up the phone. I'll gladly spend my $ on a company that has a Customer Service team that actually responds."

"This company has provided great service Great ValueThis is my first order from this company The company sends the wrong products after you have waited for months. Ordered chairs, I did not get what I ordered, and they would not send what I ordered, and required that I return at Ordered two of the advertised "luxury reclining camping chair" and received two tiny children's camp chairs that do not recline. I got it that was had fabric stapled to the back of the chair by some armature while unpacking it even cut my finger. All photos consistently showed a particular model nor was there any mention in the ad that there was even a possibility that the model would be different did not match the product description at all. It's a child-size chair and very low quality.I was trying to return this chair back to the company I send several emails got the ho response I went on social media and I found this number plus one --3̾o̾n̾e̾t̾w̾o̾ ̾f̾o̾u̾r̾ ̾e̾i̾g̾h̾t̾ ̾e̾i̾g̾h̾t̾ ̾o̾n̾e̾ ̾z̾e̾r̾o̾ ̾n̾i̾n̾e̾ ̾s̾i̾x̾--called that no when my line was connected they helped me some with instructions so that can return the chair back to them my refund initiated to me!!! . my comments are even better. "WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. Waited MONTHS to get my furniture items and finally got a delivery date, it was confirmed the day before and then POSTPONED because the items hadn't arrived at the warehouse. When I tried to reschedule, the next date was a MONTH later. Used to be such a huge CB2 fan. Now, I will never buy anything else from them. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME"
